Day 05 - A book that makes you happy
The Book of Isaiah makes me happy.
I love seeing how far God’s chosen people have come. I love seeing the promises God made and knowing they have been fulfilled and are being fulfilled. I know it’s not a novel, but I love this book.

Day 04 - A guilty pleasure book
I suppose the closest thing I have to a guilty pleasure book is the Harry Potter series. But I am by no means ashamed of having read and loved Harry Potter. I guess what makes me say that they are a guilty pleasure is the fact that they are so popular. I hate being a hipster sometimes because I am ashamed of the most ridiculous things.

Day 03 - Your favorite series
I would say, The Chronicles of Narnia, but I fear that those books will be the answer to too many of these questions, so I will pick something different.
I think that my favorite series of recent years is The Wheel of Time, by Robert Jordan. The story is so wonderfully complex and interesting, although at times these books have made me want to throw things. As soon as the final book is finished,...

Everybody, including myself, seems to like to write deep things about God on here.
All I can really think of right now is that He loves me.
But that is deep.

Day 02 - A book you've read more than three times
The Chronicles of Narnia, by C.S. Lewis.
As a child, this series was my favorite ever. I had already read all seven books in their entirety 8 times by the time I was 10 years old.
I still love these books so much, but reading them so often as a child has made it difficult to read them as an adult. It makes me sad, because now I can see deeper theological and philosophical meaning in the stories,...

Day 01 - Best book you read last year
This is difficult for me to think about because of late I have not read as much as I would have liked to. But in trying to remember, I believe last year I actually read more than I thought I did.
I think my favorite book from last year, and if not my favorite, the one that taught me the most, is The Screwtape Letters, by C.S. Lewis.
I read it near the very beginning of the year, right around the...

An accomplishment:
Today I finished reading every book of the Old Testament.
Granted, they were not in the order that is in our Bible, but it was roughly chronological order. Granted, it’s taken me since last May.
IT’S STILL SOMETHING I’M SUPER PROUD OF.
Now to tackle the New Testament again :)

Learning to sing well is the most spiritual thing I have ever experienced. Encountering the problems in my voice constantly reveals the deeper problems in my soul. I’ve learned that vulnerability inspires my most beautiful singing. I sing best when I reveal the most personal side of my voice. It’s terrifying, and emotional, and it’s showing me that I am afraid. I am afraid that...
